Prometheus gave me life
A lie, thrust into a sea of cherubs
We are the Seraphim
holding the strength of lightening
but we never strike,
Instead we praised an empty throne
My fate here is certain,
to live a life hidden away
on a rock
crimson stains privately exposed
Opaque shields, white and feathered covering my eyes
A robe of ignorance covering my feet
Keeping my transgressions secret
I serve to burn
Set my wings on fire,
As I enter the atmosphere
Signifying my fall from heaven
A beacon of hope to those to fall
A spark of comfort to the already fallen
My face, uncovered
My path, open to follow
Cursed the rest of my days
Walking on foot,
Publicly exposed
The final trumpet has sung
Wrestling with the angels has ended
The fallen leave a trail of flames to follow
Their warmth, inviting
Their touch, healing
I was warned against this
the enteral burn
There is no burn in these flames
Just a humbling love
Desires blazing
Enclosing the organs
That had been rapturously pecked
by the gods
A circle of infidels
A home for the misfits
A searing river running through us
The internal inferno, illuminates
Our bound power
Strengthening our souls
Kindling our flames to rise
